Job summary

Meta is seeking an Optical Network Deployment & Support Engineer to plan and execute network deployments for one of the world’s largest optical backbone networks. You will own deployment planning, implementation, and scaling of Meta's AI network infrastructure.

You will lead technical deployment efforts across edge, backbone, and data center environments, mentor teammates, and collaborate with multiple orgs to ensure on‑time, high‑quality delivery with strong automation and AI integration.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of Network Engineering experience with hands-on deployment
• 3+ years in Optical Network Engineering
• Experience with enterprise/carrier routing, switching, and optical transport
• Experience leading deployment projects and coordinating with vendors
• Knowledge of data center design and operational best practices
• Familiarity with AI tools and automation to optimize workflows

Responsibilities

• Lead deployment planning, architecture, and execution for ENS projects
• Contribute hands-on design, deployment, migration, and troubleshooting
• Drive roadmaps and coordinate cross-functional teams for multi-year programs
• Apply reliability, scalability and performance standards to deliverables
• Collaborate with Network Engineering, Data Center, and Planning teams
• Deploy and support global production network across edge, backbone, and data center infra
• Mentor new team members and build internal expertise
• Travel 10% to 30%
