Job summary

Gentex Corporation seeks an Instrumentation Development Engineer I to design, develop, and refine measurement systems with emphasis on optical spectroscopy. You’ll collaborate with manufacturing, R&D, and other engineering teams to ensure accuracy, reliability, and innovative solutions.

You’ll document requirements, create calibration procedures, and develop user-friendly documentation for end users while prototyping new concepts and supporting production-readiness testing.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 1+ years of engineering experience.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Basic understanding of optics and light.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Design, set up, and troubleshoot measurement systems, especially optical spectroscopy equipment.
• Document system requirements and hardware needs at project launch.
• Write and maintain end-user documentation.
• Create calibration procedures for systems or instruments.
• Provide troubleshooting support during manufacturing downtime.
• Prototype new systems prior to production-grade designs.
