Job summary

Bruker is seeking an Optical-Mechanical Engineer to join Bruker Nano. You will design, develop, and optimize optical-mechanical systems for microscopy illumination and imaging, collaborating with optical, mechanical, electrical, and software teams to deliver high-performance solutions.

Responsibilities include tolerance analysis, prototyping, design reviews, and creating detailed drawings and BOMs, with a focus on manufacturability, reliability, and regulatory awareness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; 5+ years experience, or Master's with 3+ years experience.
• Proven experience in designing and developing mechanical systems and components.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks; SolidEdge is a plus.
• Experience with FEA/CFD simulations (ANSYS) and Zemax is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design precision components, modules, and subsystems for optic mounting, actuating, and alignment in microscopy illumination and imaging.
• Perform stack up and tolerance analysis to ensure proper fit and function under extreme conditions.
• Develop and test prototypes; validate design concepts and project requirements.
• Prepare detailed drawings, BOMs, ECOs, and build/test procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate optical-mechanical systems.
