Job summary

Mesh Optical Technologies in California is seeking an Associate Mechanical Engineer for an internship/co-op. You will contribute directly to the design and build of our optical interconnect product and the factory that produces it.

You will own hands-on development, rapid-prototyping hardware from CAD to the cleanroom, and work with a mentor to identify process improvements. You will support designs with GD&T, thermal simulations, and structural analysis.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering with GPA 3.5 or higher.
• Portfolio of hands-on projects—Formula SAE, SolarCar, Robotics, CubeSats, or other club/personal builds.
• Proficient with CAD software and version control systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and build development test platforms for thermal, optical, and electrical characterization of optical interconnect prototypes.
• Collaborate with your mentor to identify process improvements and own rapid-prototype hardware from CAD to the cleanroom in days.
• Support designs with finite element analysis, thermal simulations, and GD&T drawings.
• Work hands-on with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to develop our high-volume optical manufacturing facility.
