Job summary

Mesh Optical Technologies seeks an Associate Electrical Engineer intern/co-op to contribute to the design and validation of our optical interconnect device. You will work embedded with the engineering team on real projects, not side tasks.

Responsibilities include schematic capture and PCB layout in Altium, hardware bring-up in the lab with scopes and VNAs, and collaborating across mechanical, software, and optics teams to scale a high-volume manufacturing process.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed BS/graduate degree in Electrical Engineering with a GPA of 3.5 or greater.
• Portfolio of hands-on projects—Formula SAE, SolarCar, Robotics, CubeSats, or other club/personal builds.
• Familiarity with basic signal-integrity concepts and solder-rework skills.
• Strong analytical mindset, first-principles problem solving, and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Schematic capture and multilayer PCB layout in Altium for test boards, power modules, control electronics, and aspects of our optical interconnect device itself.
• Bring-up and operate hardware in the lab—oscilloscope, VNA, logic analyzer—and document results of tests as we validate prototypes and production process.
• Work hands-on and alongside a multidisciplinary team of engineers as we develop our high-volume optical manufacturing facility.
