Job summary

The Fountain Group seeks an Optical Measurements Systems Engineer in Painted Post, NY for a 1-year assignment. You will develop and deploy optical and computer vision measurement systems for manufacturing metrology, work with cross-functional teams, and transfer tech into production.

Requires hands-on machine vision, metrology experience, and strong skills in optics, image processing, and DSP. PhD may be considered for advanced applicants, with potential for extension or conversion.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Optics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering with 3+ years of hands-on machine vision and metrology experience.
• PhD in Optics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Develop, assemble, test, and deploy optical and computer vision-based measurement systems for manufacturing metrology, inspection, and testing.
• Work with Development, Quality, IT, Purchasing, and Operations teams to implement measurement and instrumentation systems.
• Transfer measurement technology from development into manufacturing-ready systems.
• Manage external suppliers, including scopes of work, quotations, purchase orders, project tracking, and invoice approval.
• Design experiments and analyze measurement/process data to improve systems and production processes.
• Create and update machine specifications, operating procedures, and engineering drawing packages.
• Train engineering, maintenance, and operations teams on measurement system use and maintenance.
• Perform onsite and remote troubleshooting using system performance and measurement data.
