DivIHN Integration Inc in Painted Post, NY, is seeking an Optical Measurements Systems Engineer for a 12-month assignment to develop, assemble, test and deploy optical and computer vision-based measurement systems used in metrology, inspection and testing of CET products. You will work with cross-functional teams to transfer technology from development to manufacturing.

Responsabilidades

• Define, develop and implement optical and vision-based measurement systems with cross-functional teams.
• Transfer technology from development to manufacturing for production use.
• Leverage external suppliers for system integration and core technologies.
• Define scopes of work, quote, issue POs, track supplier work and approve invoices.
• Design experiments and analyze data to improve measurement systems and processes.
• Create/update documentation for production release, including specs, procedures and drawings.
• Train engineering, maintenance and operations personnel on system use and upkeep.
• Provide remote and onsite troubleshooting using performance data from installed systems.

Title: Optical Measurements Systems Engineer

Location: Painted Post, NY

Description:

Scope of Position:

An engineering position in the Client Environmental Technologies (CET) Division Engineering Measurements & Controls group that includes development, assembly, testing and deployment of optical and computer vision-based measurement systems in support of the metrology, inspection and testing of Client CET products. Work as part of a team to manage the transfer of technology from development to manufacturing.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Work with a variety of cross functional groups (Development, Quality, IT, Purchasing, Operations) to define, develop and implement optical and computer vision-based measurement and instrumentation systems.
• Transfer technology from early-stage development to a product suitable for use in manufacturing.
• Leverage external suppliers for key technologies or core competencies such as system integration.
• Define Scopes of Work, competitively quote when appropriate, issue Purchase Orders, track supplier work and approve invoices.
• Design experiments and analyze data to identify and implement improvements to measurement systems or production processes.
• Create/update documentation for release to production including Machine Specifications, operating procedures and drawing packages.
• Train engineering, maintenance and operations people how to use and maintain measurement systems.
• Provide remote and onsite troubleshooting using data and performance analysis of the installed systems.

Required Education & Experience:

• BS or MS in Optics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering, with 3+ years of hands-on experience with machine vision and metrology equipment; or PhD in one of these fields.
• Training or hands-on experience with vision systems is required.

Required Experience/Skills:

• Optical measurements system development (optics, lighting, cameras, image acquisition, image analysis, laser, 3D measurement)
• Fundamental knowledge of physical optics (principles of optics)
• Knowledge of image processing algorithms (blob analysis, edge finding, morphology, feature extraction, classification, metrology)
• Microsoft Visual Studio programming (C# and Python strongly preferred)
• Systems Engineering and integration
• Digital Signal Processing
• Experience with electrical/optical/mechanical installations, including system checkout and troubleshooting
• Strong communication and presentation skills (MS Office programs)
• Data retrieval, plotting and analysis (primarily using Microsoft Excel)

Desired Experience/Skills:

• Experience with image processing development packages such as Halcon, Matrox Inspector, NI Vision, Cognex, Keyence, or Matlab image processing toolbox
• Control systems (PLCs)
• Process engineering knowledge.
• Experienced with design of experiments, statistical analysis and process improvement
• Experience with Metrology, Inspection and Product Quality in support of manufacturing
• Motion Control – ability to integrate motion on imaging platforms
• Computing – Familiar with high performance computing systems
• 3D Transformation, Topography, and Registration – Experience with 3D transformations and processing of topography data (height maps, point clouds, and surface meshes).
• Ability to develop software to align and register multiple 3D surface datasets, quantify alignment error, perform surface comparison, and support automated 3D metrology and inspection.
• Machine Learning and Deep Learning – Familiar with machine learning and deep learning theory.
• Designed and deployed machine learning and deep learning models.
