Job summary

Kearfott Corporation, a long-established aerospace and defense supplier, seeks an Optical/Laser Assembly Technician to join its precision manufacturing team in New Jersey. You will perform optical alignment, assembly, and testing of complex assemblies following documented work instructions under moderate supervision.

The role requires experience with optical/laser parts, ability to read drawings, operate under SOPs, and maintain meticulous records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
• 2-5 years of experience with optical/laser precision parts assembly.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• ISO9001/AS9100 manufacturing experience preferred.
• Cleanroom experience (ISO 4–7) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interprets operation sheets, drawings, and instructions.
• Inspects in-process assemblies.
• Analyzes data with specifications from logs.
• Cleans hardware with various solvents.
• Assembles, aligns, reworks, tests, and calibrates optics.
• Keeps logbooks, tolerance sheets, and work orders.
• Communicates with engineers and technicians on status.
• Performs other tasks to support production goals.
