Yoh, a Day & Zimmermann company, seeks an Optical Engineering Technician for a day shift in Hillsboro, OR. The role focuses on supporting the fabrication and testing of sub-assemblies for a leading semiconductor client, with hands-on responsibility in optical assembly, measurements and laser safety.

The position requires recent technical graduates or optics-handling experience, plus strong analytical skills and a willingness to learn under mentorship in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Recent graduates with relevant technical backgrounds or experience in optics handling and measurement.
• Interferometry experience is preferred.
• Analytical skills and application of scientific methods for varied tasks.
• Optical assembly and handling experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Logistics and Operations to meet tight timelines with precision and scale.
• Support ongoing manufacturing of a key sub-assembly through testing, measurement, integration and further testing.
• Perform optical, opto-mechanical, mechanical tasks and related assembly or test activities on sub-assemblies and prototype models.
• Create, troubleshoot and optimize liquid cooling circuits, fittings, routings and piping systems for test setups.
• Safely operate lasers in a controlled environment and follow established safety protocols.
