Job summary

MIT Lincoln Laboratory's Optical Engineering Group in Lexington, MA invites applications for an Optical Engineering Intern (Summer 2027). The intern will assist in the full optical engineering lifecycle, including geometrical and physical optics, alignment, testing, and multi-disciplinary teamwork.

Requirements include completion of junior year or higher in Optical Sciences/Engineering, familiarity with Zemax/CodeV, MATLAB, and experience with optical components.

Qualifications

• Completion of junior year or higher in Optical Sciences or Optical Engineering degree track.
• Familiarity with geometrical and physical optics; knowledge of optical component fabrication, system alignment and testing.
• Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and present written and oral reports.
