Job summary

Fibertek, Inc. is seeking motivated summer interns for hands-on experience in optics labs. As the Optical Engineering Intern, you will assist with incoming inspection, implementation, and minor characterization of optical assemblies.

You will gain exposure to Zemax, Paraxia, and Matlab modeling, learn manufacturing, quality, and laboratory processes, and contribute to real projects under supervision in a practical environment.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen
• Must be 18 years or older
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
• Self-directed and able to work without supervision

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and assembly of optical components.
• Testing of laser parameters.
• Perform modeling when applicable in Zemax, Paraxia, Matlab, etc.
• Learn companies’ manufacturing, quality, and laboratory processes.
