Job summary

Fibertek, Inc. is seeking motivated Optical Engineering Interns for the summer to work in our optics labs.

The role focuses on incoming inspection, implementation and minor characterization of optical assemblies, with hands-on duties in component cleaning, laser parameter testing, and basic modeling using Zemax, Paraxia, and MATLAB. Ideal candidates will be 18+, proficient in Microsoft Office, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment while developing strong communication

Job Description

Fibertek is seeking motivated summer interns who are ready to kick start their career and build real-world experience in optics labs. As the Optical Engineering Intern, you will be responsible with incoming inspection, implementation, and minor characterization of optical assemblies.

• Learn companies’ manufacturing, quality, and laboratory processes.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements/Demands

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Prolonged periods of working in laboratory and moving equipment
• General office environment, no special physical demands required. Some lifting and/or moving up to 15 pounds required.

Salary Range: The base salary range for this position is $20-$25/hour. This range reflects the compensation Fibertek reasonably expects to offer for this role. Placement within the range will depend on factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s experience, education and training, key skills, and relevant market and business considerations.
