Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a laser and optical integration engineer for laser systems from concept to prototype.
  • Hands-on optical instrumentation and metrology.
  • Design, build and test novel laser cavities and laser-based systems.
  • Develop alignment procedures and automate alignment with robotic scripts.
  • Use Zemax to design and tolerance laser and optical systems.
  • Assist engineers and conduct limited scope testing under supervision.
  • Gather data and assist in research fields as needed.
  • Carry out design calculations and support engineers with details.

Job Responsibilities
  • Serve as a laser and optical integration engineer for laser systems ranging from early concepts to product prototypes to initial production units
  • Hands-on skill in optical instrumentation and metrology
  • Design, build and test novel laser cavities and laser-based systems
  • Develop detailed alignment procedures and create robotic scripts to automate alignment of laser systems Hands-on experience in the development, prototyping, testing or transfer to production of complex
  • Software/Optical/Mechanical systems
  • Use Zemax to design and tolerance laser and optical systems
  • Work closely with and assist engineers in the conduct of various engineering assignments
  • Carry out basic work instructions that will help in understanding the fundamentals of the Company and also learn new things
  • Conduct limited scope testing under the supervision of engineers Complete assigned tasks on time
  • Gather and assemble data for engineers
  • May be required to help in research in a particular field
  • Conduct design analysis and/or calculations under the supervision of engineers Assist engineers with appropriate design details
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and have the ability to build a good network
  • Perform a wide variety of tasks to gain familiarity with the engineering staff, methods, programs and practices Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization

The salary range for this position is $22.67/hour - $32.42/hour.This range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate’s qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for: annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non-exempt employees as applicable.
