Job summary

Tru Vue Inc. is seeking an Optical Coating Engineering Technician to support the Coating Manager, process technicians, and production coaters. You will help develop new coatings, implement process improvements, perform testing, and collaborate with customers and vendors on new products.

The role requires hands-on operation of coating equipment, strong problem-solving skills, and willingness to work extended hours in a 24/5 environment. Excellent communication and training abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in vacuum or thin film coating; 5 years preferred.
• Experience in training Process Technicians and guiding staff.
• Knowledge of vacuum theory, systems and hardware.
• Proficiency with data analysis and literature searches.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical training and on-the-job support for Process Technicians.
• Audit SOPs for coating processes and give feedback.
• Assist with scheduling and coater coverage planning.
• Lead development efforts and trials on production coaters.
• Perform product testing and contribute to new standards.
• Work with customers/vendors on new products or tech.
• Support patent processes as requested.
• Communicate findings to Coating Manager.
