Job summary

IDEX Materials Science Solutions is seeking a Test Technician to perform final optical assembly optimization and testing in a controlled clean-room manufacturing environment. You will interpret results, support mechanical and optical adjustments, and liaise with the assembly team to improve product performance.

Ideal candidates have a strong optical background, 3–5 years of related experience, and proficient use of interferometers, spectrophotometers, power meters, and beam profilers.

Qualifications

• Optical background strongly preferred.
• 3–5 years of related experience in optical testing or precision optical assembly.
• Experience using optical test equipment such as interferometers, spectrophotometers, power meters, and beam profilers.
• Strong ability to read and interpret scientific/technical data and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform optical testing accurately and consistently, including transmission and wavefront measurements.
• Conduct assembly optimization via mechanical alignment and shim adjustments using test data.
• Apply optical theory to understand system performance and improve results.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot test equipment issues and variations in measurements.
• Follow work instructions, production routers, and engineering drawings to support testing and optimization.
