Job summary

Arkema is seeking an Operations Technician to support safe and efficient plant operations in Alsip, Illinois. The role involves operating equipment, monitoring process conditions, and performing minor maintenance and troubleshooting within a 12-hour shift framework.

You will input RTPM codes, follow safety and LOTO procedures, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment preferred.
• Must be able to climb ladders and work at significant heights.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds; both to carry and to lift overhead.
• Must be able to wear a respirator.
• Must be able to enter confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Operate assigned equipment or areas of the Plant and perform operations to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Monitor process conditions, equipment and control systems.
• Input RTPM codes into the control system in real time.
• Perform minor maintenance and troubleshooting as needed.
• Isolate equipment and apply LOTO; issue Safe Work Permits.
