Job summary

Arkema is seeking an Operations Technician in Alsip, Illinois to join a field-based team. You will operate plant equipment, monitor processes, and perform routine maintenance to ensure safe, efficient operation of the facility.

You will troubleshoot process deviations, input RTPM codes, and participate in safety and housekeeping duties, with a twelve-hour shift schedule and direct reporting to the Production Superintendent and Training Advisor.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED required.
• Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment preferred.
• Must be able to climb ladders and work at significant heights.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds; both to carry and to lift overhead.
• Must be able to wear a respirator.
• Must be able to enter confined spaces.
• Must be a highly motivated, team player and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Follow HES and Operating Discipline procedures to ensure safe, efficient operation of assigned plant areas.
• Operate and field check process equipment; monitor process conditions, equipment and control systems.
• Perform Raw material charges, equipment preparation, process samples, and other tasks.
• Ensure operational activities align with Plant and Business goals.
• Troubleshoot process deviations; perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance as specified.
