Job summary

Zipline seeks an Ops Standards and Readiness Lead to own the standards and evaluation system guiding operational performance. You will translate regulatory requirements, safety policy, and system capabilities into readiness evidence, training, policy, and system improvements.

Starting with U.S. flight operations, this role scales globally, coordinating with Training, Safety, Flight Operations, and Engineering to ensure safe, scalable autonomous-delivery operations.

Qualifications

  • Experience owning or leading an operational standards, audit, or readiness program in safety- and regulation-critical environments.
  • Proven ability to govern standards across a multi-team operating system, not just a single function.
  • Demonstrated leadership with energy, adaptability, and resilience through rapid change and tight timelines.
  • Ability to translate regulatory and policy inputs into auditable operational criteria and evidence.

Responsibilities

  • Define measurable standards for flight operations, fleet supervision, and autonomous-system oversight.
  • Translate regulatory requirements and safety policy into practical performance criteria.
  • Design objective evaluation methods, metrics, rubrics, and review processes for multiple stakeholders.
  • Own the Standards & Evaluations program, including documentation, audits, change management, and records.
  • Lead recurring standards and readiness reviews with Training, Safety, Flight Operations, and Engineering.
  • Analyze evaluation evidence for trends and gaps; suggest changes to training, procedures, policy, or system design.
  • Deliver decision-ready readiness assessments on whether operations meet standards and can scale safely.
