Job summary

Toyota Tsusho America is seeking an Assistant Operations Project Manager to safeguard safety, quality, and productivity across North American production plants. You will support improvements in cost control, employee relations, and operational efficiency using Toyota Production System principles.

You will lead and mentor teams, analyze performance data, and coordinate with plant managers to implement strategic enhancements and training programs.

Qualifications

• 6–9 years experience, including supervisory experience in production environment.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Office, etc.
• Must be willing to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting regular assessments and evaluations of the production plants to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
• Collaborate with the team to develop and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Support in analyzing data and performance metrics to track the progress of operational enhancements and identify areas for further improvement.
• Summarizing data for overall departmental improvement.
• Assist in coordinating and communicating with plant managers and staff to ensure alignment with operational goals and initiatives.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of training programs and resources to support the continuous improvement of operational processes.
• Support the team in conducting regular site visits to observe operations and provide feedback and recommendations for improvement.
• Monitors productivity performance and implement improvements to meet targets.
• Monitors preventive maintenance and repairs required for the facility and production equipment.
