Job summary

PITT OHIO is seeking an Operations Business Specialist in Pittsburgh, PA. The role focuses on supporting terminal operations, driving cross-functional improvements, and training staff on new processes and technology.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree or equivalent in logistics or business, at least five years in transportation, and strong communication and analytical skills. Travel and weekend/evening hours may be required; benefits are offered by the family-owned carrier.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent work experience in LTL Operations, Logistics, or Business Management.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the transportation field, preferably LTL.
• Strong understanding of business processes related to Operations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Previous business software testing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support terminal personnel when issues arise.
• Travel to network terminals to fill in and train new hires on SOPs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement technology-based solutions.
• Test, document, and provide feedback on new solutions to IT and partners.
• Train and mentor staff on new process changes and technology initiatives.
• Develop strategies to sustain improvements and maintain documentation.
• Monitor and report progress on projects to senior management.
• Identify and recommend improvements to organizational processes and methods.
• Remain flexible to additional responsibilities as required.
