Job summary

Precision Castparts is seeking an Operations Co-op/Intern in Huntington, WV. The role focuses on hands-on leadership on the shop floor, driving improvements, and solving real operational problems while learning manufacturing system leadership.

You will work with experienced operations leaders, participate in kaizen events, and support scheduling, documentation, and safety standards. This is an on-site, part-time opportunity for students pursuing a BS in a related field.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS degree with at least freshman year completed.
• Interest in leading people in a manufacturing setting.
• Willingness to participate on the production floor.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Support daily production activities on the shop floor, ensuring safety, quality, and standards.
• Execute and sustain 6S initiatives across all production areas.
• Conduct process, quality, and performance audits to identify gaps and actions.
• Monitor KPIs such as scrap, first-pass yield, throughput, and OEE.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations on continuous improvement projects.
• Assist with RCCA for quality and production issues.
• Ensure compliance with work instructions, routers and AS9100 practices.
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment and mitigate safety risks.
• Assist with production scheduling and documentation control.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with operators, supervisors, quality and engineering.
• Participate in kaizen events, process trials, and new product introductions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
