Job summary

The Josef Group Inc. is actively seeking an Imagery Development Scientist who builds tools to turn persistent infrared data into intelligence.

You’ll design, validate, and maintain analytic software, employing agentic AI workflows and modern software practices to speed development. You’ll work with government customers, engineers, and analysts to define tool requirements and produce reports for leadership and customers.

Qualifications

• Experience building analytic software in Python or similar languages.
• Hands-on OPIR/EO-IR data exploitation experience is preferred.
• Ability to work with government customers and analysts.
• TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph is required or imminent.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain algorithms, analytic tools, and data-processing pipelines for PIR collection planning and analysis.
• Prototype analytic methods using agentic AI workflows and validate code before operational use.
• Develop workflows for data conditioning, calibration, quality control, and uncertainty characterization.
• Support exploitation of OPIR data to detect, track, and characterize events.
• Review sensor data, metadata, and collection geometry to assess data quality.
• Compare laboratory or modeled signatures with overhead observations accounting for sensor effects.
• Move tools into operational use with testing, documentation, and user feedback.
• Prepare reports and briefings for analysts, leadership, and customers.
• Collaborate with government customers, collectors, engineers, and analysts to define tool requirements.
