Job summary

HOPE, Inc. in Northern Arizona is seeking an Outreach Specialist to expand access to OUD treatment and prevention under the Opioid State Targeted Response Grant.

You will work in the community, conduct peer outreach to identified residents, and coordinate with the Community Programs Manager. The role involves engaging homeless individuals and veterans, guiding clients through Medicaid enrollment, and linking people to evidence-based care, including MAT.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High School/GED or equivalent with 2 years’ behavioral health experience.
• Completion of Peer Support training within one year.
• Personal or family experience with behavioral health or substance use recovery.
• Strong leadership and organisational skills.
• Effective oral and written communications.
• Valid Arizona Driver’s license with clean record.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• TB test within the last year.
• Fingerprint clearance if required.

Responsibilities

• Engage community members, including homeless individuals and veterans, to participate in treatment.
• Assist individuals re-entering the community to participate in treatment for opioid use disorder.
• Provide outreach to educate and navigate the continuum of care for opioid misuse.
• Assist with enrollment for services and Medicaid applications as needed.
• Collaborate with grant recipients and stakeholders to coordinate outreach.
• Transport members to appointments when needed.
• Model recovery, coaching, and mentoring to help members reach goals.
• Help members navigate and use community resources.
• Provide information on service options and fulfill referral requirements.
• Advocate for members to ensure necessary services are delivered.
