BluePearl Pet Hospital in NE Portland is seeking an exceptional Ophthalmology Veterinary Technician to join our team. The role focuses on diagnosing and treating ophthalmic diseases in companion animals, with emphasis on growing a specialized ophthalmology service.
The position offers a Sunday-Wednesday day shift and opportunities to work with a dedicated team on diverse medical and surgical cases, including anesthesia support and client education.
Competenze
- Ophthalmology experience is required.
- Assist in diagnosing and treating ophthalmic diseases in companion animals.
- Strong interest in advancing veterinary ophthalmology skills.
Mansioni
- Perform basic ophthalmic diagnostic tests (tear quantity, glaucoma testing, ulcer testing) and assist with detailed ocular exams.
- Carry out advanced ophthalmic diagnostics (retinal function tests and related assessments).
- Set up and assist with procedures and surgeries to restore comfort and vision, from outpatient to complex surgeries.
- Assist with outpatient procedures such as diamond burr debridement and CO2 laser eyelid mass removal.
- Support surgical cases including eyelid surgery, cherry eye repair, corneal grafts, cataract and retinal surgeries.
- Provide anesthesia/monitoring support as needed and learn with anesthesia specialists.
