Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking an Ophthalmology Veterinary Technician to contribute to diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases in companion animals. You will assist with exams, diagnostic testing, and a range of procedures from outpatient to surgical eye care.

The role includes anesthesia support, client education, and collaboration with skilled veterinary professionals. This position offers opportunities within a growing ophthalmology service and veterinary health network.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic ophthalmic diagnostic tests (tear quantity, glaucoma testing, ulcer testing) and assist with detailed ocular exams
• Perform advanced ophthalmic diagnostic testing (retinal electrical function, etc.)
• Set up and assist with procedures and surgeries from outpatient to complex eye surgeries
• Administer and monitor anesthesia/sedation and place IV catheters for patients as needed
• Educate clients on their pet’s ocular disease and home care
