Eye Care for Animals Houston is seeking a Veterinary Ophthalmology Technician to join our Eye Care for Animals Houston team in Houston, TX. This full-time role supports outpatient treatments, lab work, anesthesia monitoring, and surgery assistance within Thrive Pet Healthcare.

Compensation is based on experience and skill set. The ideal candidate has veterinary technician experience; licensed technician is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Experience as a veterinary technician/assistant is required.
• Licensed technician preferred but not required.
• Proficient in IV catheter placement, blood work, and injections.
• Proficient in anesthesia monitoring and related equipment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; strong customer service.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Animal handling and pre/post-operative patient care.
• Assist with ophthalmic procedures and surgeries.
• Create and present financial options and estimates to clients.
• Enter service charges into the client processing database accurately.
• Extensive client interaction and education.
• Prepare medications and manage patient documentation.
