Job summary

UC Davis seeks a 45% FTE Junior Specialist (BA‑ or BS‑level) to work with the Yiu Lab on ocular imaging, retinal biology, genome engineering, and gene therapy across mouse, nonhuman primates, and human studies. The role emphasizes imaging, tissue processing, sequencing data analysis, and data management.

The incumbent will assist with manuscript preparation, poster/oral presentations, and training students; opportunities exist to present at national conferences and contribute to grant reporting.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in a life science or related field.
• Experience with ocular imaging data (OCT/SLO) and histology.
• Experience with bioinformatics analyses of scRNA‑seq or RNA‑seq data.

Responsibilities

• Acquire and process in vivo ocular imaging data using OCT and SLO.
• Dissect, process, and histology mouse or macaque tissues.
• Perform bioinformatics analysis of single‑cell or bulk RNA‑seq data.
• Manage image data from human clinical studies and maintain lab documentation.
• Support manuscript preparation and present abstracts at meetings.
