Job summary

Cedars-Sinai Medical Network in Beverly Hills, CA seeks an experienced Ophthalmic Technician to support a busy Vision Center. You will perform ophthalmic tests, assist physicians, and ensure high-quality patient care in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Responsibilities include testing, patient preparation, documentation in Epic EMR, dilations, and equipment maintenance. Travel contract for 13 weeks with exposure to diverse ocular procedures and patient education.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Ophthalmic Technician experience.
• Experience with ophthalmic diagnostic testing and patient prep.

• Prepare patients and exam rooms.
• Obtain medical history and document in Epic EMR.
• Perform visual testing such as acuity, auto-refraction, tonometry, OCT, and imaging.
• Administer dilating drops and assist ophthalmologists during exams.
• Educate patients on ocular medications and care.

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Technician to support a busy outpatient Vision Center by performing ophthalmic testing, assisting physicians, and delivering quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and exam rooms
• Obtain medical history and document in Epic EMR
• Perform visual acuity, auto-refraction, tonometry, visual fields, OCT, Fundus Photography, corneal topography, and other diagnostic eye tests
• Administer dilating drops as ordered
• Assist ophthalmologists during examinations and procedures
• Educate patients on ocular medications and post-procedure care
• Maintain ophthalmic equipment and supplies

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Ophthalmic Technician experience
• Ophthalmic Technician Diploma from an accredited program
• High School Diploma/GED
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC)
• Epic EMR experience (Required)
• Optos imaging experience (Required)
• Experience with ophthalmic diagnostic testing, patient preparation, and documentation

Preferred

• Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT)
• Experience with intravitreal injections and basic ophthalmic procedures
