Visionary Eye Institute Inc. is seeking a Back Office Ophthalmic Technician to support physicians in delivering patient-centered care at multiple LA area locations. The role involves patient rooming, testing, and accurate charting.

Part-time and full-time opportunities are available to fit your schedule. The ideal candidate will perform diagnostic testing such as OCT, visual fields, fundus photography, A-scan/biometry, topography, and pachymetry, while maintaining HIPAA-compliant practice

Qualificações

• Frontline ophthalmic clinical skills are essential.
• Experience with patient histories and clinical documentation is preferred.
• Ability to operate ophthalmic diagnostic equipment and assist in-office procedures.

Responsabilidades

• Room patients and take histories including chief complaint, medications, allergies, and ocular/medical history.
• Perform visual acuity, refraction, pupil exams, and IOP measurement.
• Administer dilating drops and ophthalmic medications as directed by physician.
• Perform diagnostic testing (OCT, visual fields, fundus photography, A-scan/biometry, topography, pachymetry).
• Scribe and document accurately in the EHR during patient encounters.
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain ophthalmic equipment.

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Back Office Ophthalmic Technician to support our physicians in delivering high-quality patient care. The technician works up patients, performs diagnostic testing, and keeps clinic flow running smoothly so providers can focus on care. We have both part-time and full-time opportunities available.

Key Responsibilities

• Room patients and take accurate histories, including chief complaint, medications, allergies, and ocular/medical history
• Perform visual acuity, refraction/manifest refraction, pupil exams, confrontation visual fields, and IOP measurement (tonometry)
• Administer dilating drops and other ophthalmic medications as directed by the physician
• Perform diagnostic testing such as OCT, visual fields (Humphrey), fundus photography, A‑scan/biometry, topography, and pachymetry
• Scribe and document accurately in the EHR during patient encounters
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain, clean, and calibrate ophthalmic equipment
• Assist with in-office procedures and minor surgical prep as needed
• Educate patients on testing, procedures, and post‑visit instructions
• Maintain patient flow and communicate effectively with front office and physicians
• Follow HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control standards
