Job summary

American Vision Partners (AVP) is seeking a Certified Coder responsible for assigning ICD-10 diagnoses and CPT codes for physician services and ASC charges. The role supports AVP's network of ophthalmology practices with accurate coding and compliant billing.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of medical billing/coding experience, CPC or CCS certification, and familiarity with ophthalmology and NextGen coding environments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPC or CCS certification required.
• 5+ years medical billing or coding experience.
• Ophthalmology experience is a plus.
• Experience in NextGen coding environment.

Responsibilities

• Abstract records to determine CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Review physician notes for accuracy.
• Ensure services and charges meet guidelines.
• Optimize reimbursement and charge capture.
• Post charges and update demographics as needed.
• Adhere to CMS coding guidelines and modifiers.
• Collaborate with departments to improve billing processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
