Responsibilities

  • The Health Technician (Ophthalmology) performs ophthalmic technical duties with oversight from Ophthalmologist and Lead Ophthalmic technicians.
  • Refractometry utilizing retinoscopy to determine spectacle prescription; Kinetic visual field testing (Goldmann); Intraocular pressure measurements by applanation tonometry.
  • A-scan and B-scan ultrasonography including intra-ocular lens calculations and corneal curvature assessment.
  • May assist in minor clinical surgical procedures, including laser surgery and intravitreal injections, and set up instruments for scrub duties.
