Job summary

Laredo Technical Services, Inc. (LTSi) seeks an Ophthalmology Health Technician/COA for the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System in New Orleans, LA. You will provide outpatient eye examinations, patient education, and prescribe corrective lenses during normal business hours.

Requirements include COA certification (JCAHPO), BLS, and 1 year health-care experience or 2 years related education. Must be a US citizen or Permanent Resident; immediate hire upon award; benefits provided.

Qualifications

• Education requirement: 2-year degree or equivalent in a health-related field.
• Certification: COA with JCAHPO; BLS required.
• Experience: one year in a health care field or two years of related education/experience; combinations acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Provide Ophthalmology Health Technician/COA services onsite per VA SLVHCS specifications.
• Educate patients on eye care and prescribe/fit corrective lenses.
• Perform diagnostic ophthalmic procedures and assist in clinic-based ophthalmic surgery.
