Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago seeks a seasoned ophthalmology operations leader to oversee ambulatory services.

The role combines clinical ophthalmology understanding with strong management skills, budgeting, and staff leadership for more than 20 FTEs, with some travel required. You will collaborate with the Director and leadership team to optimize patient care, safety, and service delivery, recruit and mentor staff, and drive process improvements while ensuring

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Certification by JCAHPO as COA and/or COT within 1 year of employment.
• 3–5 years of healthcare leadership experience.
• Strong budgeting, staffing, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations to ensure high-quality patient care, satisfaction, and safety.
• Perform routine rounds to identify service delivery improvements and opportunities for recovery.
• Develop and monitor operational processes and staffing workflows.
• Lead process improvement initiatives to achieve high-quality outcomes and regulatory compliance.
• Assist in recruitment, coaching, and staff development; ensure orientation and ongoing education.
