Job summary

Atrius Health in Chelmsford, MA, is seeking an Ophthalmologist to join our Optum Care Delivery team. You will perform assessments, develop care plans, and collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to advance patient care in an ambulatory setting.

The role emphasizes comprehensive patient management, education, and participation in health education initiatives. Board-certified ophthalmology and licensure readiness are preferred within a national care organization.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical School or School of Ophthalmology Medicine
• Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Ophthalmology
• Current active Mass DPH Controlled Substances Registration or ability to obtain post-hire
• Current active DEA licensure/prescriptive authority or ability to obtain post-hire
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Responsibilities

• Performs physical assessments on patients with specialized conditions
• Develop and implement a plan of care for these patients, as well as prescribe medications, exercises and/or other treatments
• Collaborates with the clinical and administrative teams in the management of patient care, maintaining continuity of care through information exchange
• Serves as a liaison between primary care providers and ophthalmology specialists
• Teaches and counsels individuals and groups on health care needs and acts as a discipline educator
• Participates in development of health education programs

Education

Medical Doctor degree (M.D. or D.O.)

Board-certified or board-eligible in Ophthalmology

Mass DPH Controlled Substances Registration or ability to obtain post-hire

DEA licensure/prescriptive authority or ability to obtain post-hire

American Heart Association BLS certification
