Job summary

Atrius Health, part of the Optum family, seeks an Ophthalmologist to join our Quincy, MA team. This physician will provide ophthalmic care in an ambulatory setting within a national care delivery network.

Position highlights include performing physical assessments, developing care plans, prescribing treatments, and collaborating with primary care and specialists to coordinate patient care. We support clinicians with resources, data, and a culture that values autonomy.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical School or School of Ophthalmology Medicine.
• Board Certified or Board Certified Eligible in Ophthalmology.
• Current active Mass DPH Controlled Substances Registration or ability to obtain post-hire, per state regulations
• Current active DEA licensure/prescriptive authority or ability to obtain post-hire, per state regulations
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Responsibilities

• Performs physical assessments on patients with specialized conditions
• Develop and implement a plan of care for these patients, as well as prescribe medications, exercises and/or other treatments
• Collaborates with the clinical and administrative teams in the management of patient care. Maintaining continuity of care through the exchange of information with outside health and social agencies
• Serves as a liaison between primary care providers and specialists related to patient care
• Teaches and counsels individuals and groups with regard to specific health care needs. Serves as an educator in areas of specialization
• Participates in the development of health education programs

Education
