Job summary

Atrius Health, part of the Optum family, seeks an Ophthalmologist to join our Quincy, MA team. You’ll work within a clinician-led group focused on delivering high-value care and education to patients across the community.

As a physician-led leader, you’ll assess patients with specialized conditions, develop care plans, prescribe treatments, and collaborate with primary care and specialty colleagues to maintain continuity of care in a supportive ambulatory setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical School or School of Ophthalmology Medicine.
• Board Certified or Board Certified Eligible in Ophthalmology.
• Current active Mass DPH Controlled Substances Registration or ability to obtain post-hire, per state regulations.
• Current active DEA licensure/prescriptive authority or ability to obtain post-hire, per state regulations.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs physical assessments on patients with specialized conditions.
• Develop and implement a plan of care for these patients, as well as prescribe medications, exercises and/or other treatments.
• Collaborates with the clinical and administrative teams in the management of patient care. Maintaining continuity of care through the exchange of information with outside health and social agencies.
• Serves as a liaison between primary care providers and specialists related to patient care.
• Teaches and counsels individuals and groups with regard to specific health care needs. Serves as an educator in areas of specialization.
• Participates in the development of health education programs.
