Job summary

ReFocus Eye Health in Connecticut is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to join our growing ophthalmology team. You will work closely with ophthalmologists to collect patient information and support diagnostic testing.

Responsibilities include performing preliminary exams, OCT, perimetry, ophthalmic photography, and assisting in minor surgeries. You will help manage clinic flow and ensure a high-quality patient experience.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Ophthalmic Technician or similar role.
• Knowledge of medical office procedures.
• Ability to perform indirect activities and administrative tasks in a clinical setting.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Gather comprehensive patient information and assist physicians.
• Perform preliminary examinations such as visual acuity and pupillary responses.
• Administer and coordinate ophthalmic tests (OCT, perimetry, photography).
• Assist in minor surgeries, laser procedures, and crosslinking where applicable.
• Streamline patient flow and support clinic imaging and administrative tasks.

Your Impact:

• Elevate patient care: Work closely with our ophthalmologists to gather comprehensive patient information, ensuring accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment plans.
• Master ophthalmic testing: Conduct thorough preliminary examinations, including visual acuity, pupillary responses, and more.
• Perform advanced diagnostics: Administer a range of diagnostic tests, such as OCT, perimetry, and ophthalmic photography.
• Assist in surgical procedures: Support ophthalmologists during minor surgeries, laser procedures, and crosslinking.
• Streamline patient flow: Efficiently manage patient flow in clinic and imaging rooms, collaborating with clinical staff.
• Administer eye drops: (Certification Required)
• Contribute to clinic efficiency: Perform clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring a smooth and organized workflow.
