Job summary

ReFocus Eye Health in Salisbury, MD is seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Technician to join our multi-specialty ophthalmology team. You will gather patient information, perform preliminary testing, and assist in surgical procedures to support precise diagnoses and efficient care.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Ophthalmic Technician.
• Certification as COA preferred.
• Knowledge of medical office procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to perform indirect activities and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

• Elevate patient care: Work closely with ophthalmologists to gather comprehensive patient information, ensuring accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment plans.
• Master ophthalmic testing: Conduct preliminary examinations including visual acuity and pupillary responses.
• Perform advanced diagnostics: Administer tests such as OCT, perimetry, and ophthalmic photography.
• Assist in surgical procedures: Support ophthalmologists during minor surgeries and laser procedures.
• Streamline patient flow: Manage patient flow in clinic and imaging rooms with clinical staff.
• Administer eye drops: Certification required.
• Contribute to clinic efficiency: Perform clinical and administrative tasks for smooth workflow.

Salisbury LOCATION

Local travel is REQUIRED. Mileage reimbursement is paid out if using your own vehicle.

Your Impact As An Ophthalmic Technician

• Elevate patient care: Work closely with our ophthalmologists to gather comprehensive patient information, ensuring accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment plans.
• Master ophthalmic testing: Conduct thorough preliminary examinations, including visual acuity, pupillary responses, and more.
• Perform advanced diagnostics: Administer a range of diagnostic tests, such as OCT, perimetry, and ophthalmic photography.
• Assist in surgical procedures: Support ophthalmologists during minor surgeries, laser procedures, and crosslinking.
• Streamline patient flow: Efficiently manage patient flow in clinic and imaging rooms, collaborating with clinical staff.
• Administer eye drops: (Certification Required)
• Contribute to clinic efficiency: Perform clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring a smooth and organized workflow.
