Quantum Vision Centers in Centralia, IL is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to support ophthalmologists by performing initial testing and preparing patients for exams. You will operate diagnostic equipment and document findings in the EMR, while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.

The role requires HIPAA compliance, strong communication, and ability to work a variable schedule including weekends, with opportunities for growth and hands-on training in ocular diagnostics.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One year of related experience and/or training.
  • COA/COT certification preferred but not required.
  • Proficient in EMR systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work over 40 hours and weekends when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional patient service in person or by phone.
  • Greet patients professionally and thank them on exit.
  • Assist physician and prepare patient for exams with testing.
  • Perform diagnostic tests: dilation, refraction, pressures, visual fields, OCT, etc.
  • Record data in EMR and maintain room stock.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance.
  • Open/close exam rooms and ensure cleanliness.
