Job summary

Quantum Vision Centers is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to assist ophthalmologists by performing initial testing and patient prep in Swansea, IL. You will handle a range of duties using diagnostic equipment to prepare patients for exams.

Responsibilities include exceptional patient service, accurate EMR documentation, HIPAA compliance, and maintaining exam rooms. Starting pay is $19/hr with higher DOE based on experience and shift needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• At least one year of related ophthalmic experience or training
• COA or COT certification preferred but not required
• Strong patient service and HIPAA compliance

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service during every patient encounter (in person or via phone)
• Greet patients promptly and professionally and thank them when they leave
• Anticipate physician needs to facilitate clinic flow
• Maintain patient flow and respect time for patients and doctors
• Comply with HIPAA and company policies and procedures
• Verify patient information by interview and record medical history
• Document data in the EMR during visits
• Record vital signs and ocular test results as needed
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
• Keep exam rooms stocked and clean
• Support general office duties as assigned by management
