Job summary

The University of Miami Health System seeks an Ophthalmic Technician I to support daily clinical activities in our ophthalmology department. You will prepare exam rooms, conduct a range of vision tests, and assist in administering diagnostic drops and measurements.

This role requires a High School diploma (COA preferred) and at least 2 years of relevant experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to work evenings, nights, or weekends as needed are essential.

Qualifications

  • COA certification preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare exam rooms and restock supplies for daily activities.
  • Test visual acuity and color perception; document results.
  • Administer eye drops and measure intraocular pressure.
  • Perform visual field tests and ocular measurements.
  • Instruct patients on eye care and maintain records.
  • Assist with contact lens fitting and inventory management.
  • Adhere to policies and safeguard university assets.
