Job summary

Allina Health Hastings Clinic is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to assist in patient care within ophthalmology services. The role includes preliminary ocular testing, vision screening, and preparing patients for exams and in-office surgery.

You may operate equipment such as a manual lensometer, keratometer, and ophthalmometer as needed. The position is 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two-week pay period) with 8- and 12-hour day shifts, no weekends, supporting multiple locations including Bandana Square,

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years medical/optical experience.
• Knowledge of complete eye exam tests and procedures and surgical assisting procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient preparation, assessments and eye exam.
• Provides surgical support and pre/post-operative care.
• Department support and scheduling responsibilities.
• Orders and maintains ophthalmic supplies and calibrates equipment.
