Job summary

Allina Health Hastings is seeking a dependable Ophthalmic Assistant to support eye exams and in-office procedures. You will prepare patients, assist with surgical procedures, schedule visits and manage pre/post operative requirements.

The role includes patient room preparation, instrument sterilization, supply management and responsive communication with patients and teams. Prior ophthalmic exposure is preferred and a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant credential may be required on hire.

Qualifications

• 0 to 2 years medical/optical experience.
• 0 to 2 years familiarity with pre-certification and payer requirements.
• Certified Ophthalmic Assistant certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient preparation, assessments and eye exam.
• Provider surgical support and assist with in-office procedures.
• Schedules surgeries and coordinates pre/post visits.
• Opens/closes patient rooms and manages supplies.
• Cleans and sterilizes equipment and maintains inventory.
