Galanis Cataract & Laser Center in Shrewsbury, MO is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to assist ophthalmologists by performing initial testing and preparing patients for exams. You will provide patient care, maintain EMR records, and support clinic flow while complying with HIPAA.

The role offers full benefits, 401k, PTO, and additional eye-care related training. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, one year of related experience, and certification is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least 1 year of related experience or training.
• COA/COT certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional patient service in person or via phone.
• Greet patients professionally and maintain a courteous atmosphere.
• Assist ophthalmologist to facilitate clinic flow.
• Record medical history and current meds; verify purpose of visit.
• Document data in EMR and prepare patients for exams.
• Perform diagnostic tests (e.g., dilation, refraction, visual fields, OCT).
• Keep rooms stocked, maintain cleanliness, and support general office duties.
