Job summary

Galanis Cataract & Laser Center in Shrewsbury, MO is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to support ophthalmologists by preparing patients, performing basic diagnostic tests, and documenting results in the EMR.

The role emphasizes excellent patient care, HIPAA compliance, and teamwork in a fast-paced clinic with standard Monday–Friday hours and potential overtime. Previous eye-care experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preference for COA/COT certification but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and maintain a welcoming, professional attitude.
• Assist ophthalmologists by preparing patients for exams.
• Record patient data and medical history in EMR.
• Perform diagnostic tests (e.g., visual acuity, refraction, IOP) as assigned.
• Maintain exam rooms and keep supplies stocked.
