Job summary

Qualifications

  • Must have graduated from an accredited ophthalmic program, or have a high school diploma/GED and two (2) years of related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Administers diagnostic tests.
  • Takes ocular measurements and tests visual functions (acuity, fields, tonometry, keratometry, topography).
  • Administers topical ophthalmic medications as directed.
  • Instructs patients in home care and contact lens use.
  • Assists in ophthalmic surgery; sterilizes and maintains instruments.
  • Performs administrative duties such as scheduling appointments and taking histories.
