Job summary

MidWest Eye Center in Hamilton, OH is seeking an ophthalmic technician to support ophthalmologists and optometrists. The role includes data collection, eye tests, and accurate charting within an EMR system.

Responsibilities include administering medications, assisting in procedures, maintaining exam rooms, and collaborating with a fast-paced clinical team to ensure patient safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience preferred.
• Ophthalmic/optometric technician experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Nextech/ICP experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review patient charts for completeness and accuracy.
• Perform testing ordered by doctor and document results.
• Act as medical scribe and enter data into electronic medical records.
• Take ocular and systemic history and record visual acuity.
• Administer medications under physician direction.
• Assist with in-office procedures and ensure informed consent.
• Maintain exam room cleanliness and orderliness.
• Support inventory reporting and supply needs.
• Participate in daily team huddles and meetings.
• Maintain professional attitude and teamwork.
