Job summary

Delaware Eye Care Center in Newark, DE seeks an ophthalmic technician focused on patient care. You will assist physicians in the exam lane, perform pre-exam testing, document findings in the EHR, and support patient education and instrument maintenance.

Responsibilities include administering tests (visual acuity, tonometry, imaging), assisting with minor procedures, and ensuring a positive patient experience in a team-oriented environment. Benefits are provided with full-time employment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent interpersonal and clear communication skills.
• Basic computer literacy required.
• Willing to travel to other offices occasionally.
• 1–2 years in a multi-specialty clinic preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and establish rapport.
• Input patient data into the EHR and document findings.
• Perform pre-exam testing and assess ocular health.
• Assist ophthalmologist and optometrist during exams and procedures.
• Assist with contact lens fittings and patient education.
• Open/close exam lanes and maintain equipment.
• Maintain inventory and ensure safety procedures.
