Advocate Health in Wisconsin is seeking a part-time Ophthalmic Assistant to support the Hartford Ophthalmology department. The role covers 20 hours per week with a weekend rotation and involves preparing exam rooms, assisting physicians, and performing visual screenings and documentation.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Organizes and prepares exam rooms and work areas, including cleaning and stocking.
• Prepares patient for exam and assists physician; records medical history and chief complaint.
• Performs basic to complex diagnostic tests and visual screenings.
• Assists ophthalmologist with surgical procedures and post-operative care.
• Assists patients with ordering and dispensing glasses and contact lenses.
• Maintains and calibrates equipment; sterilizes instruments.
• Schedules patients for post-operative, surgery and specialist appointments.
