Job summary

Vision Innovation Partners is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician II to support providers with diagnostic and treatment procedures and related administrative tasks. The ideal candidate has healthcare experience, preferably in eye care, but on‑the‑job training is available while pursuing certification.

Responsibilities include taking histories, performing eye tests, dilating pupils, instructing patients on medications and contact lens use, and assisting with inventory.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Experience as ophthalmic technician or scribe required.
Experience with EMR tools.
Ophthalmic assistant/technician program (COA/COT) preferred.

Responsibilities

Take medical histories and verify information.
Perform visual function and diagnostic tests (tonometry, refraction, retinoscopy).
Use Humphrey field analyzer and OCT for eye measurements.
Notify ophthalmologist of changes in vision or acuity.
Dilate eyes for exams.
Explain eye drop/medication usage.
Explain contact lens care.
Assist with inventory management.
